Our Birds

The Melanistic Mutant pheasant has beautiful black, purple, and green feathering. The females have black-brown feathering. These pheasants have been known to have higher re-population success rates in the wild. Melanistics can live harmoniously with Ring-necked Pheasants in captivity and can be an exciting surprise during any field or European hunt. They are also popular among hobbyists. Melanistic eggs and chicks are available from late March to late July.

Melanistic Mutant Pheasant

The Blackneck pheasant, also known as the Southern Caucasus pheasant, is a dark-feathered pheasant that can weigh up to a pound more than a Ring-necked pheasant. Blackneck pheasants are also much less flighty. These pheasants can live with Ring-necked and Melanistic pheasants in captivity. Blackneck eggs and chicks are available from late March to late July.

Ring-Necked Pheasant

The Ring-necked pheasant is a very strong-flying bird. The strain carried by Flying "C" Bird Farm is bred to mature sooner, and their wild demeanor makes them ideal for re-population projects. Ring-necked pheasant eggs and chicks are available from late March until late July.

Chukar Partridge

The chukar is a partridge with primarily gray feathering that is rather flighty. Weighing between 1-1.5 pounds, Chukars are nearly unaffected by extreme temperatures and relatively easy to raise. Chukar eggs and chicks are available from April until August.

Northern Bobwhite Quail

Weighing in between 7-9 ounces, the strain of Northern Bobwhites carried by Flying "C" Bird Farm is ideal for hunting purposes, and the quail will be slightly larger in size than most common Northern Bobwhite quail strains would produce. We believe our efforts to slightly increase their size created a great dual-purpose and very hardy bird. Bobwhite eggs and chicks are available from April through September.
